THE WINDMILL RIDGE STORY
After decades of conservation of the ridgeline, the community who lives around the ridgeline came together to develop a plan for our energy future. We worked with experts to identify the best renewable energy resources to fuel our area. With the cooperation of neighboring landowners, the conserved lands were left in their pristine state, while the wind turbines next door provide our area with electricity and the knowledge that we are doing our part and making a difference.

Windmills on Windmill Ridge have become possible thanks to the ability of the taller turbines with longer blades to harness the wind to create electricity from the wind, which is free.
Energy in Our Backyards
Developed through a Community-based Stakeholder Process, landowners, neighbors, towns, and the region came together to decide how to harvest energy from the sun, wind, water, and fields.
